Carlo Pernat tells us today about an episode linked to the period in which he ran the Aprilia Racing Department. Noale's bike was  starting to be very competitive in 250 and the Genoese manager had Doriano Romboni under observation to sign him in view of the two-year period 1993/1994, the year in which Max Biaggi won the title.

The unlucky Romboni could have finished on that bike, but things went differently and in this video Pernat tells us why. Doriano still came to the court in Noale for the 500 project with the twin-cylinder bike a few years later, also winning an historic podium at Assen. But that's another story.

We would like to point out that the video was shot during the emergency period linked to the Covid-19 and the good Carletto Pernat did his best with the technological means at his disposal and with his notorious familiarity with any electronic gadget. The images and audio may not be perfect, but we are sure you will forgive us.
