MotoGP, Danny Aldridge: The Ducati 'holeshot 2.0' device will be banned for Moto2 and Moto3

The device known as ‘holeshot 2.0’, introduced last year by Ducati on Jack Miller' s GP19 (pictured in a moment of use) and which will soon be adopted by Aprilia and is being tested on the Yamaha, is set to be prohibited in the minor classes.

Activated by a command on the handlebar (on the Yamaha by a knob on the left of the frame) it is used to lower the rear suspension. It has proved useful in acceleration, but it also allows you to improve top speed, by lowering the bike, a very important factor in Moto2 and Moto3.

For this reason, the technical director of MotoGP, Danny Aldridge, has spoken out unfavourably about this technology.

"We won’t allow this system to arrive in Moto2 and Moto3, where it is very important to keep costs down - said Aldridge in Qatar - If someone shows up with this device, we will immediately say no."

At the moment, however, there is no official communication from the FIM, but an amendment to the regulation is likely to arrive soon.
