Motorcycles, but also cars, are two of Valentino Rossi's greatest passions, and something he doesn't want to give up once his seasonal commitments with the MotoGP are over. In these past few years, we've been used to seeing him in action at the Monza Rally Show. This time, instead, he skipped the Brianza event to be present at the start of the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi, which began yesterday with the first free practice sessions.

On the Yas Marina circuit, #46 will shares the cockpit of the Kessel Ferrari 488 GT3 with Alessio Salucci and Luca Marini. Apparently, the Doctor likes to compete  since, in 2012, he was in action with the Swiss team on the Monza track during the Blancpain GT Series in the Brianza round. And we can't forget his participation in the 6 Hours of Vallelunga in 2009, as well as the one at the Nurburgring.

The years pass, but his love for four wheels continues, and Valentino doesn't deny it: "I competed in the Monza Rally for many years at the end of the season but, this time, I wanted to change and, consequently, I'm happy to be in this race ," #46 told Sky. "The car is nice to drive, and I'm having a great time. We're only at the beginning of the weekend, and there are lots of aspects to evaluate but, at the moment, we're competitive. However, we're expecting a very long race, that lasts 12 hours," he added. As of today, the longest I attended was the Suzuka 8 Hours, so it becomes difficult to make predictions."

Rossi's mind is focused on the present, namely, the Yas Marina track, where he ended the free practice sessions with a sixth time. He then had something to say about the future. 2020 will be a key year for remaining in the World Championship, and Valentino doesn't hide this. "When I'll give up bikes, I'd like to ride in the Endurance. I'd like to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Spa 24 Hours, and also the 24 Hours Nurburgring," he concluded. "Let 's say there are five races in the calendar that I'd like to take part in."
