MotoGP, Alex Marquez jokes: "No advice from Marc. He says I'm fast."

VIDEO. "They can tell you things, but putting them into practice is another story. The Honda 2020? It made no sense to try it now. I'll do it in Sepang."

Alex Marquez was the star of an event organized by the sponsor, Estrella Galicia, in Madrid. He had a lot to talk about because he'll always remember the end of 2019. Not only did he win his second world title, this time in the Moto2, but he also signed a contract for 2020 with the best team: the official Honda team. As if that weren't enough, he'll be sharing the garage with his brother.

"When Emilio told me there was this possibility, I told him to go ahead," he said. "He also told me that it would be a difficult challenge, but I had to face it."

Marc was one of the things he had to deal with, also due  to his recent shoulder surgery.

"We're better off than a year ago, but he knows that the recovery times will be the same," explained Alex.

With the MotoGP world champion on bed rest and in close contact, he at least has the opportunity to bombard him with questions.

"I tried to get some tips, but he told me jokingly that he'l reveal very little to me because he saw I was fast in several corners," Alex said jokingly. "We hardly saw each other in the garage in Jerez because you stay with your own team. In the end, even if they tell you something, putting it into practice is another story."

The last tests, however, were positive for the younger Marquez brother.

"I felt better because I was able to work with my team, after being supported by the LCR team in Valencia. It was a pity that it rained twice on the second day, just when I had mounted a new tire. Let's see if the winter will pass quickly, to be able to get back in motion right away."

He'll have to wait for the February tests in Sepang, then he'll probably be able to drive the Honda 2020 for the first time.

"It made no sense to me to try the new bike," he explained. "Cal and Marc did it and drew positive conclusions. In Malaysia, I'll know what Honda's plans will be, but I think they'll give everyone the same bike. The more information we have, the better it'll be."
