Pecco Bagnaia's plans at Phillip Island were ruined by a fall. The FP2 in the afternoon seemed to be the right chance to place himself in the top ten. Instead, a setback ruined Bagnaia's plans.

A forced passage from the Q1 is expected with the rain forecast for Saturday..

"It was a bit of a painful fall ," Pecco said. "I feel some pain in my foot, but it's nothing to worry about. There was a technical problem, and we already know how to intervene to solve it. Too bad because I was eighth with the race tires, and I was confident."

Bagnaia really regrets this.

"That fall knocked me out of the top ten, so we'll take this year as it comes. Even when I go fast, there's something that gets in the way. I never had this problem before, but I'll know how to solve it in the future. I was good."

Then attention shifts to the tires, which will play a key role.

"I made headway with the hard, as compared to the medium. Among other things, I managed to improve by a second and a half. Improving like that in a few laps wasn't bad. I think I would have fallen below 1'1'30." Too bad I didn't use the soft, but the outcome is more positive than usual."

Bagnaia is thinking about Saturday, where forecasts indicate rain.

"I hope it'll be dry, of course, since riding in wet conditions at Phillip Island is not the best thing. It should be easier than usual to get into the Q2 with dry conditions."
