The FIM Stewards might have even been too lenient with Sam Lowes. The Gresini team rider came up alongside Jesko Raffin on the main straight at Phillip Island, then intentionally shoved him. A really bad collision that caused the NTS rider's feet to slip from the pedals at full speed.
The Stewards reviewed the images and saw that Lowes was "riding in an irresponsible manner, deliberately causing contact with another rider and endangering both riders."
That's why Sam received a penalty and will start from the last grid position in the race on Sunday.
