Moto3, Max Biaggi secures Fenati for 2020

The two riders who will compete on the Italian's team next season are confirmed, Romano to be joined by Alonso Lopez

Moto3: Max Biaggi secures Fenati for 2020

Max Biaggi has made his move for 2020, his Moto3 team doubling in size to field two very different riders, one very experienced Italian and a young Spaniard.

The first needs no introduction, because Romano Fenati is a well-known face in the world championship. The Italian moved to Moto2 last year but his adventure came to an end with the Misano escapade. This season, he returned to the cadet class with team Snipers, winning the race in Austria. He did plan to return to Moto2 for 2020, but Biaggi has convinced him to stay put in Moto3. In addition, Romano is now managed by Regalino and Angelo Iannone, father and brother of Andrea.

Alonso Lopez will be Fenati's team-mate. The 18-year old Madrid native is a graduate of the Alzamora school who made his world championship debut last year, with Team Estrella Galicia. He competes for the same team this year, his best result to date a 4th place finish at Barcelona.

It remains to be seen whether Max has made the right decision, something he definitely did this year with Canet, who is currently fighting for the championship title.
