A challenge between two- and four-wheel champions is always fascinating, especially when it comes to Marc Marquez and Lewis Hamilton, respectively masters of the MotoGP and Formula 1 championships. Both like anything with an engine. The Spanish rider had the opportunity to drive a Toro Rosso at the Red Bull Ring last year, and the Brit doesn't disdain a few days on a bike on a circuit, recently riding a Yamaha SBK.
It was Marquez, on the pages of the Daily Mail, who launched the idea a few weeks ago: "It would be nice to go up against each other, first on a Formula 1 car and then on a motorcycle because I know that Lewis rides one."
Hamilton responded through Sky Sport: “I followed all the MotoGP races. The Petronas team also did very well. I hope to be able to ride a bike one day. Challenge Marquez? I hope so. I'm a big fan of Marc's. What he does with a bike is incredible. Him in the car? I think he'd like mine."
Neither of the two champions would pull back, and Hamilton has repeatedly expressed his desire to ride a MotoGP. It would be a special day with many surprises.
Saying is one thing and doing is another, but there's nothing wrong with dreaming...
