MotoGP: Aprilia reorganises: Cecchini promoted to technical coordinator

The Misano test does not only bring new technical parts for Aprilia. The Noale manufacturer is taking to the track with a slightly reorganised team structure, which will now stand until the end of the season. Further proof that there is no lack of commitment in Aprilia, the Italians keen to win the MotoGP challenge at all costs.

At the centre of this change is Fabrizio Cecchini, formerly Andrea Iannone's crew chief but now promoted to technical coordinator of the entire team. So a promotion for the experienced Italian technician, who now supervises the work on both riders' bikes, as well as those of the test team.

Someone has to take Cecchini's place as Andrea Iannone's crew chief of course, and this role is entrusted to Pietro Caprara, already Bradley Smith's crew chief on the test team and now promoted to the factory team. Caprara's replacement has not yet been named, though control of the team remains in the hands of coordinator Paolo Angelin.
