MotoGP, Rossi at Radio 1 Rai: "My fans are my treasure. I have no regrets."

The Doctor's interview with Domenica Sport: "I'd like to have a baby. I've already found the right girl, but I'll continue racing. I wouldn't change Italy with anything."

MotoGP: Rossi at Radio 1 Rai:

Valentino Rossi was special guest in today's episode of Domenica Sport on Radio 1 Rai. Present in studio during Valentino's interview with Nico Forletta were his father Graziano Rossi, "our" Carlo Pernat (who discovered him), Flavio Fratesi (head of his Fan Club), and Silvano Galbusera, (the Doctor's head technician).

Here's what the Doctor told Radio 1.

Being 40 is good, but now with social media you're always "live"

"Saying 'forty-year-old' is weird... But I'm happy because I'm a 40-year-old who's fit in both his body and his soul. When you're 20 or 30, those who are 40 look old to you. It's true. I feel good at 40, even if I'm old for my sport:"

"Things were more laid back before, both in sports and in life. Now we're always "live". With social media, it's hard being somewhere and not letting people know. I like my privacy. Also, you can't make mistakes.”

"When I was young, I used to get angry with journalists. Now I do less. During competition days, doing interviews is one of the most boring things because I have so many other things to do, but that's okay."

I'd like to have a baby. Maybe I've already found the right girl to have one with

"I've voted very few times. I started to follow politics a bit in the past 10 years, but I don't think I've ever voted."

"I'd like to have children, and I think I will, but I'm still taking my time because it's difficult to reconcile my life with that of a father's. I have to find the right woman, but maybe I already have because I have a fantastic girlfriend."

"I'd like my child to be like my mother, with her character and blue eyes."

Fans are my treasure

"Fortunately, I only have regrets in sports. It's normal after such a long career. Besides those, I don't have any."

"Italy is great. I've traveled all over the world, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, for how we live here, for how we eat, and also for the girls. We have a huge potential, but we don't know how to make the most of it. We're always trying to be sly. We have style, and others envy us."

"Most of my fans will continue to watch the races, others won't. We have so many young Italian riders that could become the next Valentino Rossi, and I'll pass my fans onto them. The greatest thing is to see so many fans who get excited after so many years. This is the treasure that will remain with me the most."

"God for a day? I'd try to fix our planet, fix all the damage we've done."
