After Johann Zarco's farewell to KTM at the end of the season was announced, many thought of Dani Pedrosa as a possible replacement. The Spanish rider is already wearing the colors of the Austrian team as a tester, retiring from the races less than a year ago. Dani is also a rider who's really loved by the public, and KTM would certainly gain from this, when it comes to image.

But it'll be difficult (if not impossible) for this opportunity to materialize. It was the rider himself who kindly closed the door on Servus TV's microphones, commenting on the French rider's decision.

"If you get to the point where Johann is, all you can probably do is leave the team," was his opinion. "I have a lot of respect for him. He's a great rider. But, right now, I don't know how to react."

Of course, he also responded in relation to that seat that was left empty.

"I'm a KTM tester, and I think this will be my position in the future, too.

I'm much more relaxed now than in the past, and I don't have to bear the pressure of the races. I focus on training, and don't worry any more about the Grand Prixs. This is my plan," he explained.

However, it won't be easy for the Austrian team to find a quality replacement. A possibility could be that of promoting Miguel Oliveira from Tech3 to the "premier team" and attempt to recover Syahrin, who was shown the way out a few weeks ago... or else go hunting in Moto2.
