MotoGP: Zarco: "KTM farewell, I want to race with a smile and aim for the podium"

Johann Zarco's future is uncertain, the only certainty is that the Frenchman won't be racing with KTM next season. The official confirmation came this morning, the split a joint decision between the two parties.

Zarco never found that spark with the RC16 and has been brave enough to hold up his hands and put an end to the adventure. The lack of results left him with no hope, 2020 having looked likely to be another ordeal.

The Frenchman explained the reasons for his decision on Instagram.

“it's official, I will not race with KTM for the 2020 MotoGP season. It was a hard decision to take, I have the chance to do the best work in the world and I want to do it with a smile, racing for podiums. As a professional, I will remain focused for the rest of the 2019 season, giving my best and trying to improve my skills".
