When Fenati sat at the table reserved for the fastest in qualifying at the Red Bull Ring, Dovizioso and Marquez immediately shook his hand. Both were happy to find that rider again whose career seemed to have ended after that negative event at Misano last year. Instead, Romano returned. He accepted being relegated to the Moto3, and the pole position in Austria (which he kept despite the penalty that will make him start from the second box) is a new starting point for him.

"I'm happy for him. I'm sure he understood what he did, " said Marquez. "I had already explained it in Brno after what had happened with Vinales. We're all young and sometimes, under pressure, it's not easy to think clearly. We need more experience. Romano has learned, he's back, and I'm happy. He'll succeed again in showing his talent on the track."

Even Dovizioso welcomed Romano with a smile: “I'm, glad to see him here. From the outside, it's always easy to judge," he said, recalling the past. "I believe that Romano has more potential than what he has shown, and he can fight for a victory in every race."
