Maverick Vinales' results are like a rollercoaster, with some real highs and some massive lows. At Brno it was more of the latter, with a tenth place which cooled morale somewhat after the recent results.

It took me 7 laps to pass Bagnaia who was a second and a half slower than me. it was frustrating”, he summarises.

The race had already got off to a bad start.

I lost a lot of positions off the line, I started on wet asphalt and the rear wheel was sliding. I stayed calm because, with the pace I showed in warm-up, I was sure I could catch up”.

But that's not exactly how it went.

I wasn't able to push, today it was impossible to ride - explains Maverick - I had no grip and was losing along the straight, I could only try to pass at the first turn".

Vinales doesn't want to talk about disappointment.

“I expected it, because when there's no grip the M1 suffers - he continues - In warm-up it was easy for me to go fast, while in the race I risked crashing several times. If it hadn't rained, the result would have been different but when the track conditions change, the Yamaha becomes difficult to ride. Having to set a time with our corner speed, when there's a lack of grip we suffer."

Tomorrow's test is an important one, with initial development of the 2020 but the Spaniard is not overly interested.

I don't want to waste time thinking about next year, I have to stay focused on the Austrian race and the next rounds. We'll have time to collect data for devleopment during the Misano and Valencia tests. I only know that our rivals have taken a step forward and to catch them we need to take 2 or 3”.
