SBK: Pirro gets a (super) pole at the Misano CIV, Savadori lingered behind

The great dictator. Michele Pirro didn't wait for someone to breath down his neck and, in the fourth qualifying round of the Misano CIV, he sent a strong signal to his opponents. There's no need to get psyched. Beating him won't be easy. The Barni team rider's time in Q2 looks like a warning. His 1.35"749 - 1 second better than the 1'36.718 from the Q1 - earned him a record in qualifying, which translates into a big gap for his rivals. In Lorenzo Savadori's case, after his double win at Imola and his second time in the Q2 on Friday - just over a tenth - he began to send battle signals for the SBK title. The Aprilia rider is still one of the few, at the moment, who can handle Pirro's super power. The only one this year who beat him in the double round at Santerno.

Lorenzo didn't get beyond third place (+0.751) today, opening the way to Riccardo Russo, who did well at the end of the session, bringing his Ducati to second place, even if with a gap of 0.685 from the poleman. Keeping with Pirro's pace, a victory seems tough, and so is the hope to see an uncertain SBK reach the Vallelunga round.
