Apparently, cars are increasingly winning over riders. In the past, it was Valentino Rossi. A month ago, instead, Andrea Dovizioso was busy with the DTM at Misano. Today, it was Franco Morbidelli's turn.

In fact, the Roman rider from Tavullia took advantage of the morning to test himself at the wheel of Bruno Spengler's BMW on the TT track.

An experience that immediately won him over, like love at first sight.

"It was a great experience. I really had fun," Franco began. "Being on this track with a car, when we're used to motorcycles, is something unique. I was surprised by the speed in corners, especially for the grip. I think it was really a great opportunity that Dorna offered me, along with BMW and my team."

Now, just like Dovi, all you have to do is race.

"If they would ask me, I'd say yes Why not?”.

Franco, what are your feelings for this upcoming round?

"I'm arriving at this race after the last test in Barcelona, where we were fast. On that occasion, we focused on the set-up, but we'll have to reconfirm everything here in Assen. Our goal is being fast starting on Friday but especially during the race."

Two weeks ago, Quartararo hit the top podium in the top class. Is that your goal?

"The podium is undoubtedly my goal, but it's not easy. To get there, you always have to be competitive."

One last word: You were the victim of a disastrous fall during the free practice sessions in Barcelona. How much did that count?

"We're human, so we make mistakes. The only thing that matters is pushing ahead and taking my mistakes to heart. I'm not one of those who are impressed by falls, also because I ended up battling it our for the first row in qualifying. What matters, as already mentioned, is being fast over the weekend and especially during the race."
