MotoGP, Pernat: "Marquez is the strongest and even fooled Lorenzo"

"As well as being fast, he's cunning, but he'll soon find himself dealing with Quartararo. Yamaha is already considering moving him up in place of Vinales"

MotoGP: Pernat:

Marc Marquez is not holding back, with Le Mans marking his third win of the season so far following those at Termas de Rio Hondo and Jerez. The Spaniard couldn't have asked for more in France, at the end of a Sunday in which the Ducatis of Dovizioso and Petrucci shone on the lower steps of the rostrum.

There may be no KTM among the top three, but Pol Espargarò finishing just five seconds from the winner is not to be underestimated. Alex Rins and Maverick Vinales proved less impressive, the first only tenth, the second unable to even cross the line.

Here's what went down at the latest round in the words of our very own Carlo Pernat.

In France was saw Ducati score a team win, and Marquez win the on-track battle. Three red bikes followed Marc across the line, but they were unable to beat him. He is the strongest of all, and will win many world titles. As well as being fast, he's also cunning, as he's come up with a Honda that only he can ride, working mainly on the engine and even fooling Lorenzo in the process, as he himself admits. Jorge has been unlucky this year, he missed winter testing and now there's even talk of divorce, though I think it's too soon. It's like back in Stoner's day, as Casey too was the only one able to ride the Ducati in 2007, and the same now goes for Marc on the Honda. I think Marc will soon find himself having to deal with Quartararo. He was quicker at Le Mans and I expect to see him on the podium soon. Fabio is a phenomenon and will cause Marquez problems for sure, that's why Vinales needs to look out. Maverick reminds me of Melandri and now he's at risk of having a bad season and losing his place on the factory team. Despite having a two-year contract, he could be demoted to the Petronas team, I'm sure Yamaha will consider this. Let's not forget the Ducati in-house fight between Petrucci and Miller, where the man in front will earn the spot for next year. I was also impressed by KTM, and Espargarò finishing just five seconds from the front. They've made that jump that they needed to make, while Aprilia hasn't yet done so, suffering due to one injured rider and another who is unmotivated. In comparison, KTM has already taken a step forward, also as a result of the investment the manufacturer has made”.
