Danilo Petrucci's European campaign now moves on to Le Mans, and his desire to really show his stuff remains great. The Italian is no doubt one of the riders under the spotlight, another reason why each race is so important.

“I think the bike is quite competitive everywhere this year. Le Mans, on paper at least, is better for Ducati than Jerez, but we need to understand various things, including the weather, which is unpredictable. Last year I ran a good race and I'd like to do that again or improve, it will be tough but I think things might go better than they have at recent rounds".

Just like every year, Le Mans is where people start talking about the market, which in Danilo's case regards the possible renewal of his contract with Ducati.

"To be honest I'm not about to renew in the short term. I'm trying to focus on the track and enjoy the moment, seeing as I always dreamed of being on this team. After Austin, I was upset and have decided to focus primarily on enjoying myself, and things already went better at Jerez. I know that I have to give it my all, and if I do so I'll have my seat for next year”.

One very important round in terms of the market is often Mugello, but Petrux prefers to focus on the track itself.

“We haven't even talked, but of course everything depends on results. We're calm, both Andrea and I went well at Jerez but not well enough, so we've focused on adjusting certain aspects of the bike”.

In conclusion, thoughts turn to Le Mans, an event often characterised by rain.

“Rain mixes things up. I'm fast in the wet, but last year I ran a good race in the dry and would like to do that again. I'm not worried about wet conditions anyway”.
