Memories of Nicky Hayden are still held in the hearts of all motorcycle racing fans. The Austin GP will be an opportunity to celebrate the deceased champion. The Texan track honoured Nicky last year by officially naming turn 18 'Hayden Hill'.

On Friday 12 April, FIM president Jorge Viegas and Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta will attend a ceremony in which race number 69, the Kentucky Kid's symbol, will be withdrawn from MotoGP.

In addition, Sunday will see the Hayden family take to the starting grid, along with the Honda with which Nicky won the world title in 2006, as the national anthem plays out.
