The Jerez blaze has put paid to teams plans, the three-day test they were set to take part in at Jerez having literally gone up in smoke, along with all the material needed to begin the championship in May.

Having confirmed that nobody was harmed in the fire, Dorna called a meeting, in which the decision was taken to proceed with the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup category, but not from its original start date, set for May.

A new calendar will be announced shortly, in the meantime Dorna Sports and all its partners are working to get the Energica bikes back on track as soon as possible.

An investigation to establish the precise cause of the fire is still underway, the findings to be revealed once confirmed. We do know one important thing and that is that the electric bikes were not being charged when the first flames appeared.

The teams and riders present in the paddock, unable to work or test, have been forced to return home, many of them changing their flight bookings.
