The Qatar race behind him, Lorenzo was worried about a strange 'crack' he could hear when moving his shoulder. He therefore had further medical tests once home and these have identified a slight fracture to his first, right rib. The Majorcan has confirmed this on his Twitter profile, also confirming that he will race in the Argentina GP.

Jorge has been less than lucky in recent months. First a foot injury at the Aragon GP, then his wrist in Thailand and then a broken scaphoid in January, followed by this latest injury.

Lorenzo landed hard on his back during FP3 at Qatar, but initial tests did not show any injury. The Honda rider gritted his teeth and ran the race, despite being severely limited by the pain.

He now faces a recovery period of between three weeks and a month, so he should be ready for the Argentina GP, taking place on 31 March. This is nevertheless one more obstacle for Lorenzo, who wants to be fully fit as he continues his work to adapt to the RC213V.
