The idea was launched by Jorge Lorenzo at the end of the last day of testing in Qatar: "Let's move up the race time. The temperatures drop drastically, and the humidity increases at 8pm. Falling is easy." Indeed, many took a fall, including the Mallorcan.

In the days that followed, the Honda rider had the opportunity to talk with Dorna Carmelo Ezpeleta's boss, who seemed open to moving up the starting time, maybe to 7pm, the time it started last year.

Tomorrow the riders will discuss it in the Safety Commission. In the meantime, Lorenzo has already received the approval of his colleagues.

Starting from Valentino Rossi. "In 2018, we started at 7pm, and I think it would be the best solution because safety would increase." Marquez also agrees with the Doctor. "I would prefer to move up the starting time." And Vinales. "We'll definitely talk about it," guaranteed Maverick. "Moving the start up an hour would be less of a risk, and we'd have more grip on the asphalt. It would also mean a better show."

Finally, Dovizioso also emphasized other aspects that could be improved. "Racing earlier would be better, but we must also underline the fact that we'll have two free practice sessions during the day, therefore, bad conditions to prepare for the race."
