Ezpeleta: "Jorge Lorenzo has fractured his scaphoid"

The Dorna CEO has broken the silence regarding Jorge's condition, but it could be only a minor fracture of the left wrist

: Ezpeleta: "Jorge Lorenzo has fractured his scaphoid"

Jorge Lorenzo has fractured his scaphoid”, comments Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna CEO, while talking to Sky Sport. The Honda rider visited A&E at the Pederzoli clinic in Peschiera del Garda yesterday, suffering with hand pain. No further details were forthcoming.

Ezpeleta has now broken the silence and talks about a “fractured scaphoid”. The hand in question is the left, the same one that Lorenzo injured last year in Thailand, undergoing surgery as a result.

In reality we cannot be certain about Lorenzo's conditions and this might simply be a hairline crack rather than a full fracture. Honda has not yet issued any official communication about its rider, but may well do so in the coming hours.

Jorge may have already flown to Spain for further checks, also because he is expected in Madrid on Wednesday for the official team presentation.

We will keep you informed as and when updates become available.
