Massimo Rivola has spent his first few days in Aprilia and one of his first tasks was to travel to Barcelona, to meet with Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta. The trip to Spain was also an opportunity to be interviewed by motogp.com.

After 21 years in Formula 1, moving to Aprilia is a big challenge for me - he explains - I only started one week ago, I still need to meet many people, for now I can say that the F1 environment seems more rigid, while that of MotoGP is more open.

The move from four to two wheels is not an easy one, but Rivola can count on significant race experience.

I hope to bring my experience, not only from working in Ferrari but also Toro Rosso and Minardi, two smaller companies - said the new CEO of Aprilia Racing - We have a lot of experience at Noale and all the right ingredients needed to return to the pinnacle of racing, as in the past”.

As the year begins, goals are set.

The aim is to grow, as soon as we can take those first steps, I'm sure that everything will come more quickly. I don't know the riders, but I will meet them soon. I think Aleix is a fighter and I like that type of approach. Andrea is a very talented rider and has matured during his time with Ducati and Suzuki, I expect him to be able to guide the team, along with Aleix. If the team works well, we'll have significant room for improvement”.
