SBK: Laverty-Ducati, a done deal!

Eugene Laverty has done it: the Irish rider has found a ride for the 2019 season - rightly so - and what a ride. The Ducati Panigale V4 awaits Eugene, who previously promised he would battle hard if he were able to get his hands on a Bolognese bike.

Team Go Eleven has hired Laverty to compete in the top class of the production-derived series, the squad having moved over from Kawasaki to Ducati. The team, headed up by Gianni Ramello and Denis Sacchetti, had been negotiating with Ducati for a while and has now reached a last-minute agreement, while Chaz Davies, Michael Rinaldi and the Aruba team have already tested at Aragon, Alvaro Bautista readies himself for the upcoming test, and the two Provec Kawasaki bikes, with Rea and Haslam, prepare to fight for their umpteenth world title.

Laverty, the winner of 12 Supersport and 13 Superbike races, is not competing to make up the numbers, well aware that, in the right conditions, he can hinder the world champions and vice-champions: “after five weeks of uncertainty, I now know I'll be there in 2019! Thanks to Ducati and team Go Eleven, this is a great opportunity for me" wrote the rider on his Twitter account.
