Thursday's press conference lifts the curtain on the Motegi race weekend, where Marc Marquez has his first opportunity to secure the world title. The Spaniard arrives in Japan following victories in both Spain and Thailand: “The Aragon and Buriram were important, as the Ducati riders were very fast. This will be a weekend like any other. I'll will try to fight for the win and understand how to do that. Last year I had a great battle with Dovi, I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Andrea pulled off a great move to beat me in 2018”.

The Honda rider secured two of his previous titles in Japan: “In 2014 I was in the ideal situation to win, while 2016 was a little unexpected. This weekend isn't like Valencia, where you have just one shot and you're nervous or stressed. It's important to be competitive from the outset and stay on the podium, this track holds no secrets and, unlike Buriram, we all know what to do”.

The track particularly suits the characteristics of the Ducati: “This is a stop and go track so it works well for the Ducati. But we can be strong, and can perhaps close the gap through the tight corner. I'll see how it goes”.

The seventh title remains the hot topic: “I'll face it as I did the first race of the season. I'll deal with Motegi as I have any race weekend throughout my career, giving it my all."
