On Friday in Buriram, the top six positions also include Andrea Iannone’s Suzuki. On a track where times are particularly close, The Maniac is just 166 thousandths behind the leader, whereas teammate Alex Rins is out of the top ten altogether. The Italian rider therefore gives Friday passing marks, despite a harmless crash.

“I can finally see a bit of light and some positivity, but I am still struggling a lot – Andrea said – I think that right now the situation is the same for everyone. Unfortunately, figuring out the right tyre solution for the race is complicated.”

Andrea then discussed the issue further.

“I didn’t like the soft tyre or the medium and the other medium that we have available. From what we’ve seen so far, all the tyres have very low grip and the bike’s behaviour is not normal. I don’t think it stems from the tyre but from the Suzuki.”

However, Iannone prefers to keep morale high.

“There is a lot of work to do, especially in terms of the electronics – he concluded – When the temperature rises like in the afternoon, everything gets worse. However, when it drops, we find a better situation.”
