MotoGP: Ducati admits: "A technical problem caused Lorenzo's crash"

Jorge Lorenzo's crash during FP2 had everybody worried, Davide Tardozzi included, the team manager immediately heading to the medical centre to see how the Majorcan was doing. There were doubts as to the cause of the crash, or rather was it a technical problem or a mistake by Lorenzo?

Tardozzi clears things up.

“We have excluded an error on Jorge's part, while we have identified a technical problem that we are analysing – comments Tardozzi – at first Jorge asked us whether he had perhaps braked too hard, but that wasn't the case”.

#99 has not sustained any fractures.

Fortunately Jorge is ok and has his smile back. The bike can be repaired and is of secondary importance”.

The Borgo Panigale team are nevertheless surprised about the occurrence.

This is the first time such a thing has happened, we've never seen it before and need to closely look at what happened. We at Ducati never hold back when it comes to providing explanations, but first we need to have a clear picture.
