Prior to the Misano GP, some of the MotoGP riders will take part in a rather special event. For the first time in history, a delegation from the world championship will be received by the Pope at the Vatican. Pope Francis will meet a group of MotoGP riders and managers on Wednesday at 9am.

Carmelo Ezpleta, Dorna CEO, and Giovanni Malagò, president of Coni, will be joined by Marc Marquez and brother Alex, Dani Pedrosa, Danilo Petrucci and Jack Miller along with team manager Francesco Guidotti and Andrea Iannone with Davide Brivio.

A small delegation that will have chance to meet one of the world's most important figures prior to the general audience in St. Peter's Square.

It's not the first time that Pope Francis has to do with the two-wheeled world, in that he has, in the past, been gifted a Harley Davidson and leather jacket that were subsequently auctioned off for charity.
