In the Silverstone thriller qualifiers, Andrea Iannone gave Suzuki seventh place behind Danilo Petrucci. It is a performance that perhaps was not in line with the Italian rider’s initial expectations, but certainly not one to bin. In fact, the Maniac prefers to see the glass half full.

“It’s a pity about today – the Italian rider began – In qualifying, we found the second and third sector with a lot of water. In any case, we managed to muddle through, also because, besides the two Ducatis, Márquez and Zarco are not too far away. However, we will need to understand the situation for Sunday.”

Concerning this, Andrea has no doubts.

With the rain, it will not be possible to race – he stated – In fact, large puddles are created. Unfortunately, the asphalt does not drain and a lake is formed. Yesterday we talked about it in Safety Commission and now we will need to see what happens, also because we can’t predict the weather for Sunday.”

In any case, there is a shared idea.

“In the event of heavy rain, we are all in agreement. In the wet, there could be conditions to race, but not with driving rain.”

This is an opposing point of view compared to Dovizioso’s statement yesterday.

“You have to understand how heavy it rains – Iannone said – With all the dips, a huge puddle is formed and you can’t see it. Today I was not on the track when all the accidents happened in FP4, so I don’t know what the sensations were. However, I think that with carbon brakes it’s impossible to brake.”
