Moto2: Lowes to return to team Gresini in 2019

Gresini Racing has confirmed its Moto2 commitment for the 2019 season, in which it will compete with a bike that will be back in the hands of prodigal son Sam Lowes.

During his first season on a Kalex (in 2016), the Brit, along with the team headed up by Fausto Gresini, scored 6 podiums, 2 race wins and 5 pole positions: results that saw him promoted to the reigning class with Team Gresini and Aprilia.

Main sponsor General Oil is also reconfirmed for 2019.

I'm really pleased to be able to work with Gresini Racing and Federal Oil again, we have good memories together and both parties have unfinished business - comments Sam Lowes - I've learned a lot in the last two seasons and it's time to see what I can do. I know the high level at which the team operates and I am fully motivated with regard to the team and sponsor”.

Fausto Gresini adds: “Sam is a welcome return. He spent two seasons with us in the past and the first in Moto2 was one to remember. I'm pleased to be able to count on his speed and professionalism, and together with Federal Oil I am sure we'll be protagonists in the intermediate class once more”.
