While Valentino can at least say he enjoyed himself at the end of the race, the same can't be said of Maverick Vinales. The Spaniard started 11th and crossed the line 12th, but the main problem is that he seems unable to explain just what is going on.
“My only goal is to start enjoying myself on the bike again but right now that's impossible - he admits - I don't know the reason for all our problems, I've tried modifying my riding style but that solves nothing. At the start, it seems as if the M1 is lacking in power, but I'm suffering in all areas during the race”.
Vinales does not agree with those who say he's unable to remain calm in a complicated situation such as this.
“I am focused and once that visor is lowered I'm always the same. All I can do now is think about the next race, at Silverstone, which is a track I like”.
Before that there is a test at Misano.
“An opportunity to find a set-up with which I'm comfortable, something I don't have right now” he concludes.
