On the Sunday when Marc Márquez cast out the nines and came home a winner, Dani Pedrosa consoled himself with eighth place on the Sachsenring. So, the Spaniard was able to turn things around a bit compared with the way the weekend began, achieving a spot in the top ten. The Honda rider finished ahead of Johann Zarco’s Yamaha.

I struggled a lot with the setup in the race – Dani explained – In fact, I did not feel very good. Unfortunately, I struggled at the beginning going into corners and at the same time I did not have the same pace as Saturday. I have had problems all year with the bike setup.”

And so, there is no lack of disappointment on the Honda rider’s face.

“The problem with the setup is one that we have encountered on every track and it is not an easy one to solve. I hope that after the break, we will be able to be faster than we have been up to now.”

The final comment concerned his farewell to MotoGP at the end of the season.

“These past few days it has been very strange to see so many people in the paddock asking me why I am retiring from MotoGP. It is a particular moment, but my mind is focused exclusively on the race that awaits after the summer break.”
