The market is keeping everyone busy, teams and riders alike. Riders like Chaz Davies, expected to renew with Ducati but at the same time interested to see how competitive the V4 will be come 2019. His future remains a hot topic.

At Laguna you said Ducati will have to convince you to stay. How is that possible if you cannot test the bike?

It won't be east, we need to look at development and the plans. It would be great to test all the bikes and then decide, but there's little we can do right now. the problem is now when I would test the V4, but rather to understand by when it will be competitive, seeing as my goal is to have a bike that allows me to win the title”.

In rhe Ducati camp, many believe it will be more competitive than the current bike.

“The project is definitely exciting and the bike has great potential. If I stay, I want a bike that's a winner right from FP1 at Phillip Island. I say this because if it's not then we'd find ourselves playing catch-up in Thailand and it would all be more complicated.”

Attention then turns to Friday at Misano, where Chaz closed ninth.

“I think that Friday was strange, especially considering the weather. I set my best time with a new tyres, but not the option that I usually prefer. I hoped to complete more laps, but we are all in the same boat and we'll make some changes in FP4 to have a more complete picture ahead of the race”.
