Carlin Dunne, riding the Ducati Multistrada 1260, has won the 2018 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the important race that took place this weekend in the Colorado mountains, bringing Ducati back to victory and earning the title of “King Of The Mountain”. Dunne completed the "Race to the Clouds" in a time of 9’59”102 to score his fourth win at Pikes Peak, all of which have been on board a Ducati Multistrada.

"We did it! We've reached the top step of the podium for the fourth time - commented Carlin Dunne after the race - The Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak was just as extraordinary as we expected it to be. The bike was perfect, everything worked well, giving e all I needed to reach the top of the mountain quicker than everyone else.  We know that Pikes Peak is never an easy race, but everything worked out and we've scored a great win for Ducati that, without doubt, is crowned “The King Of The Mountain”.

This is the seventh win for Ducati in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the first dating back to 2008, the year in which the Multistrada made its debut. The Ducati-Dunne pairing held the record from 2012 to 2017, a year in which the Borgo Panigale manufacturer chose not to compete. This year, back on the Colorado mountain again, Dunne scored the win riding the new Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak, an updated and further improved version.

Rounding out Ducati's success in this edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is Codie Vahsholtz, in third place, the second rider competing with the Spider Grips Ducati Pikes Peak team who flanked Dunne in this year's race. Cosie reached the podium with a time of 10’12” 703. Vahsholtz is a local rider, born in Colorado, and comes from a family of Pikes Peak champions.
