MotoGP: Crutchlow: Productive test to aim for the podium in Assen

The Monday tests left a smile on Cal Crutchlow’s face. After his fifth place race finish, the Team LCR rider completed the session with the sixth best time eight tenths behind the leader and only 11 thousandths ahead of Dani Pedrosa’s Honda.

“It was a good day, but extremely hot – the Brit said – We tested a lot of things, including the electronics and a new Michelin front tyre that could help us in the future. We did not focus on lap times – he added – but I think we had a very productive test.”

Therefore, Cal is well aware of the situation going into the Dutch round, scheduled for the last week of July.

“I turned 61 laps, gathering useful data for the upcoming races – he advised – The next round is Assen and our goal is still the podium, as well as earning important points for the Championship standings.”

There were good impressions for Takaaki Nakagami as well.

“We worked a lot on the bike’s setup – the Japanese rider said – as well as the maps. We are already thinking about Assen, since it is the only track of its kind and going into corners will be fundamental.”
