While the MotoGP market has practically closed, in Moto2 negotiations are just hotting up. There has already been one announcement ahead of the Barcelona GP, with KTM securing Jorge Martin for the 2019-2020 period.

The Spaniard will take the place of Miguel Oliveira, who will make his MotoGP debut next season: “I think this is a great opportunity for my career and I'm really pleased to have reached an agreement with KTM and Red Bull – states the Spaniard -  it's a competitive manufacturer and I can't wait to start work over the winter in preparation for the 2019 championship.”

Martin is not lacking in motivation: “I want to learn as much as possible in my first year and fight to be at the top the following year. I have great memories of my past experience in the Red Bull Rookies Cup of course. it's important that we're back together and I hope to be able to achieve the same kind of results we did last time around".

Before thinking about the future, the current Gresini rider will need to stay focused on the current season, with three points to pull back to leader Marco Bezzecchi over the Barcelona weekend.
