MotoGP: BREAKING: Jorge Lorenzo and Honda together for the next two years

The news exploded yesterday and this morning brings official confirmation of Jorge Lorenzo's hiring by Honda HRC. The manufacturer makes things official in a press release issued today: “Honda Racing Corporation is proud to announce the signing of three-time MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo. The Spanish rider will join the Repsol Honda Team for the next two years. As of 2019, Lorenzo will be team-mate to four-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez: two great champions with enormous talent and high hopes who will strengthen the team and contribute to the development of HRC”.

So it is up to #99 to take Dani Pedrosa's place, the latter having recently confirmed his departure from Honda after 18 years. The news of Lorenzo's possible move to HRC had been circulating since yesterday, before which it seemed almost a given that he would return to Yamaha with the support of Petronas and Angel Nieto's team.
