At Mugello, the two team Alma Pramac Ducatis flaunted a beautiful yellow livery enhanced by some black stripes, a colour scheme that represents the Lamborghini colours.

The results on the track were not as good as those achieved in Le Mans. Danilo Petrucci finished seventh and Jack Miller never saw the chequered flag.

Already after qualifying, the Italian knew that it would be a hard Grand Prix and just after the start, it was clear that his prediction had been correct: I did a good start – Danilo said – I was very focused and I gained a few positions, but on Turn 2, Marquez pulled one of his usual moves and he pushed me off the track. Fortunately, there was a run-off area and I went wide. On the first lap I was ninth after losing several positions and I pushed very hard to make up ground, giving it all I had.”

Danilo reacted, doing the race fast lap:And I was also in the top three at a certain point of the race – he points out – but 5 laps from the end, the bike lost power and I had no more rear tyre. I was unable to accelerate because I was sliding around all over the place. Despite the episode with Marquez, I raced for the podium without managing to get there. I also lost my chance of finishing in the top 5, although I did improve my spot in the overall standings. In Barcelona I’ll try to get back into the top five.”

Where Petrucci brought home points, Jack Miller was left with nothing. After many positive results, this is his first zero with Ducati: “I didn’t have a bad start. To the contrary, I started well – the number 43 rider recounted – but I lost a few positions after the downhill, staying in the centre group. On turn 4 I hit the ground when the front closed up. I tried everything to keep the bike up, but I wasn’t able to and I am very disappointed for myself and for the team.”

The Australian had dreamed of a different Grand Prix of Italy. “I had chosen the medium on the rear which had let me be fast this weekend and I felt good on it – he continued – in the race, I was unable to capitalise on the advantage that tyre gave me. It’s a pity. In any case, it was a good weekend and, after 8 races in a row with good results, this zero will teach me something new. We’ll be strong again in Barcelona. Not finishing the race was not what I wanted, but sooner or later the first zero had to arrive.”
