Michele was truly lucky. He was basically not hurt at all”, Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi, after returning from the Careggi hospital in Florence where Pirro was admitted, could not be happier.

The Total Body CT scan that was done on Michele revealed no further significant complications. In the end, the Ducati tester came through with a head injury and a dislocated right shoulder, which has already been reduced. In any case, Pirro will remain under observation in hospital at least until tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, at Mugello the Brembo engineers examined the braking system on the Italian’s Desmosedici and they found no problems.
