MotoGP, Lorenzo: "I am unable to ride with a clear mind"

The Majorcan: "The Ducati is demanding and tiring because of the ergonomics of the new bike, after a few laps I struggle"

MotoGP: Lorenzo:

He was off like a rocket, taking the race lead, just as he has on other occasions, but then he was sucked back in by the group, finishing in sixth place. A bitter Grand Prix of France for Jorge Lorenzo, the result of which feels like an umpteenth opportunity thrown to the wind.

I managed to start strong like in Jerez , even succeeding in gaining an important advantage – number 99 began – Unfortunately, on the first turn I risked going down since I went in at 250 km/h and the other riders braked a lot later.”

One might wonder what obstacle the Majorcan needs to overcome.

“The fact is that after five or six laps, I’m unable to ride in a clear and calm way, keeping my mind clear – he revealed – The new Ducati has different ergonomics compared to the previous one, so it is much more demanding and tiring.”

However, Lorenzo will not hear of giving up.

With the changes introduced in Jerez, I’m able to be faster – he recalled – but unfortunately, I was unable to solve the other problems. I hope to do it in the next tests in Barcelona.”

Number 99 is keen to keep morale high.

“Everyone in the paddock knows who I am, the results achieved over the years and the world titles won – he pointed out – At the moment, I am struggling with the Ducati, but the only thing we can do is work to improve and find a solution. The GP18 definitely grew after the first races of the championship.”

Lastly, someone asks if it would be better to change strategy.

That’s not the problem – Lorenzo concluded – As I said, we just all need to work together and believe.”
