MotoGP, Lorenzo: Dovi thinks I'm out of Ducati? I don't know who he is talking to

"My point of contact is Dall'Igna. At Le Mans I feel like the GP18 is more mine, I'll need to exploit the explosiveness in the early laps"

With Lorenzo, there is no way to get away from talking about his future right now and once again today, after his 6th place in qualifying at Le Mans, a question was asked. Partly because yesterday Dovizioso let it slip that the Majorcan’s spot in the saddle is shaky, with Petrucci and Miller at the head of the queue to replace him.

“I don’t know who Andrea spoke with and who gave him certain information, but I don’t really care. I talk to Dall’Igna; I think he is important enough on the team” the Majorcan rebutted.

In any case, Jorge is under the microscope in the Ducati camp and right now he would need a good result to improve his odds.

“I have good sensations in the saddle here in Le Mans, similar to those in Jerez - he explains – Yesterday I had struggled in FP3 only because I happened to put on a tyre with less grip than normal and we had made some wrong moves on the bike’s setup.

In qualifying things went better.

I did a good time. I thought that it was enough for the front row, but everyone was fast today - Jorge continued - A lot of riders lapped faster than my old track record which is credit to the new asphalt and the advancements on the bikes. The level has risen.

The most important thing is that Lorenzo is in the good group, just behind the leaders who, here in Le Mans, are Zarco, Marquez and Dovizioso.

I feel like the Ducati is more and more mine - he confirms - In Jerez I did not expect to lead the race for so many laps. I didn’t think I had the pace to do it, whereas here my pace is closer to that of the leaders. I think that a lot will depend on the start tomorrow. If I get off the line well, I’ll be able to exploit my explosiveness in the early laps to capitalise and hammer down.”
