The injury that strong and athletic Leon Camier suffered at Aragon was a serious one; as well as sustaining various fractures, the Brit also had to start breathing properly again before he could get started with his rehabilitation programme.

The Red Bull rider will have another check-up today during which medical staff will evaluate his progress; Leon is not yet 100%, of course, but it will be the doctors who have the final say: I'll go for a comprehensive check-up today and then I'll really know how I'm doing after suffering fractures and contusions in Spain, I want to race of course, but I don't think it will be easy. If it's not possible, I'll be back at Donington Park”.

If Leon is unable to compete, a stand-in is already lined up in the shape of Jason O’Halloran, the Australian rider competing with the British Honda team in the BSB series. Jason, 30, has always raced in the UK, making a name for himself with his fearless style: yes, if I can't race, O’Halloran will ride the Honda Fireblade during the Imola round” confirmed Camier.

The Australian has solid knowledge of the CBR, though the bike used in BSB does not have the same electronic package as the WorldSBK bike; his bike has a Motec ECU while the Red Bull bike has a Marelli. Jason has also never raced at Imola and will need to get to grips with its secrets but O'Show, as he's known, is not put off. He will complete his races at Oulton Park today before flying straight to Bologna and heading for the Santerno track.
