MotoGP: Zarco: "Mamola doesn't deserve the Hall of Fame"

Randy Mamola enters the Hall of Fame and will receive the prestigious award over the Austin race weekend. A news that almost all the riders at the press conference were pleased to hear, all except one that is.

We're talking about Johann Zarco, who turned his nose up:  “I know him very well but haven't seen him for a while. It's not fair that Randy can become a legend, because he's never won a title, and this takes some of the importance away from MotoGP. He deserves to be a legend because he's created unforgettable moment, but at the same time he takes away from the titles won by other riders”.

Cal Crutchlow is of the opposite opinion, and hasn't forgotten the American's legendary save at Misano: “It's great to see Randy among the MotoGP legends, I worked with him for several years and am a friend of his. I have many memories of him, but his move in that race was a stand-out”.

Dovizioso also has positive things to say about the American: ”I consider Randy to be great person and am happy that he's remained a part of the championship." Vinales backs this up: “I'm pleased for him, I've often spoken with him, and if you put bike accidents into Youtube his name is one of the first that comes up (he jokes)”. Rins is also happy about it: “I think it's a big moment for Randy, we've spent time together here at COTA and it's always a pleasure”.
