Marc Marquez is not the only rider who needs to go back to school when it comes to his overtaking. Johann Zarco, on lap one, made a move that was very similar to that of the Spaniard, one that resulted in injury for Dani. When the Frenchman pushed Pedrosa onto the inside, the latter had no option but to run wide in order to avoid him, ending up on a wet patch of asphalt and finding himself flung into the air.

His landing was far from soft and Dani came down hard on his wrist, though it appears it is not fractured. Understandably, this had done nothing for the Honda rider's mood.

“I don't have a lot to say about the race, I think we did a good job over the weekend and I was riding well. But my race finished before the end of lap one” he explained.

Then, without naming names, he refers to Zarco and particularly to those who are responsible for ensuring the race plays out fairly.

“race direction should take care of the safety of all riders. I am in real pain with my wrist and will undergo further tests in Barcelona tomorrow” he stated.
