The temperature in the Ducati garage is getting incandescent and the origin of this overheating, once again, is Jorge Lorenzo. The Majorcan had already shown signs of irritability over the last couple of weeks. There was a harsh face to face with Dall'Igna after the Qatar race and then there was the firing of the coach, Debon. Ducati urged calm, but Lorenzo increased the dos in an interview granted to Movistar TV.
His target was his teammate.
"Dovizioso is very intelligent. He always knows everything - he began enigmatically - For my entire career, he has tried to undermine my morale and he is still doing it now that we are teammates. It’s the way he talks about me with the press. Everything is fine. He is a calm person and we have a cordial relationship. After all, we come here to try to win races and championships, not to make friends."
When asked more questions after making these statements, Lorenzo changed the subject.
"You heard the interview. We’ll talk some other time. Now I just want to focus on the race" he said.
It is unlikely that these statements will not leave a mark in a period that is already complicated because of Jorge’s difficulty adapting to the Desmosedici and the consequent lack of results. One thing is certain: the call for calm fell on deaf ears.
