Having attended the latest British Superbike event, Manuel Puccetti was able to admire – in the freezing conditions at Donington – many interesting riders with a bright future: “but not yet ready to ride the double world-championship winning bike and aim for race wins – specifies Manuel – the British series no doubt offers many interesting names, but we have decided on a more expert rider”.

Sheridan Morais is the man selected by the Italian team and Japanese manufacturer. The 33-year old South African raced in Superbike for several seasons, also completing three Supersport seasons, scoring three podiums and a win, achieved last year in Germany. “Shez” might be small but he is gutsy and the only rider in the series to brake hard with both legs outside of the fairing:we chose him this morning, together with Kawasaki – continues Puccetti – because we think he represents the best alternative to Sofuoglu. It won't be easy though, without any pre-season testing, Sheridan will up against prepared riders and the very strong Yamaha team, but we're convinced that he can do well at Aragon and Assen. Then we'll see if Kenan has recovered and is able to compete at Imola”.

Morais, also competing in World Endurance, is ready for the challenge: "I'm excited and keen, I know the Kawasaki environment and will be aiming for the podium, particularly the highest step".
