Friday's standings in Buriram see four riders within less than a tenth, and this list includes Jordi Torres. Undoubtedly a positive start for the Spaniard, who was able to bring his MV Agusta very close to the Kawasaki of Tom Sykes. Torres can only be pleased with his performance on day one.

“I'm very pleased with the work done with the team and I'm starting to understand the bike. Today we had two major goals: to set a fast lap time and to understand which was the best tyre choice for the race. We can definitely say that we have achieved them both."

There appears to be a solution then to the problems he had with the front of the bike in Australia.

There are always some difficulties. the most important thing is to have more confidence, we've taken an important step forward. I'm sure we're on the right path”.

Considering today's performance, there is great expectation ahead of race 1.

“The track suits the characteristics of the MV very well. The straights are not so long, and I've been able to find a setting that gives me more stability. I'm pleased but will wait and see what happens in the race”.
