Superpole and race one are just around the corner and the Cannibal has woken from his slumber, Johnny Rea setting the fastest time in third practice at Buriram.

The team Provec rider tops the overall standings thanks to a best of 1’33”327, powering his Ninja ZX10RR into the lead, just as he likes it.

Will the Kawasaki be the bike to beat at this track? Statistics say so, with Tom Sykes backing this up by setting the second fastest time to place second in the overall standings.

An excellent third place for Spaniard Jordi Torres, with a very competitive MV Agusta; #81 is just 0.070 from Rea, and made interesting progress throughout the day's three sessions.

The two Ducati riders Marco Melandri and Chaz Davies have improved on their positions, placing fourth and fifth in the final practice; the two Panigale R bikes have never won at Thailand, time will tell whether they can turn that around this weekend.

Sixth, and a place in Superpole 2, for Leon Camier with the Red Bull Honda, followed by Van Der Mark, the fastest Yamaha rider; a bad crash for Xavi Fores, who was taken to the medical centre for tests after he made contact with Laverty. The Spaniard has since been declared fit to continue.

Ninth in the combined standings for Eugene Laverty who powers his RSV4 into SP2 despite a crash. Rounding out the top ten is Alex Lowes, with the second Pata Yamaha.

After his accident at Phillip Island, Lorenzo Savadori is gradually improving his speed and resistance, finishing eleventh. Baz is also looking to get back to full fitness after fracturing his shoulder. The Althea BMW rider closes twelfth.
