MotoGP: Petrucci: The crash? So scary! I thought I'd hit Miller

It wasn't the easiest of days for the Pramac team, in that Danilo Petrucci and Jack Miller had to deal with a simultaneous crash, which fortunately left them both unhurt. The setback nevertheless conditioned their Friday, forcing them to remain in the garage for several hours.

Petrucci tries to see the glass half full.

“We started very fast even if we had the tyres used yesterday. I was also at the top of the standings for a few laps but then I crashed practically with Jack. I don’t know what happened."

Danilo cannot explain the incident.

“it was very strange. I braked in the same place I always do and at the same speed. I crashed five seconds after Jack, and was scared for him, in that I was coming at him fast”.

A setback that affected the day's plans.

“it took us two hours to get back out. I went out with the medium tyre and was quite fast. I also tested the new fairing with wings but I didn't have much time and I also wanted to avoid risks, in that I saw Rabat crash. All in all, a positive day despite having not completed many laps”.

At the end of the day, Jack Miller smiles in relief, though he admits he was worried for a second when he crashed.

I honestly don't know what happened. I was scared as Danilo was coming towards me fast, i got back up quick and luckily nothing happened”.

A positive day overall though for the Australian.

“I'm pleased with the improvements made, particularly in terms of the time and sensations with the bike. Tomorrow I'll work on the tyres, as we have a lot to do there. Unfortunately, it's impossible to complete the race with the soft front tyres, while with the medium the left-hand side suffers too much”.
